Green Schools

Poster Competition and Our Theme which is Don’t be mean just go Green.

Congratulations to all our participants in our green school’s competition . Mrs O’Brien had the difficulty of picking a winner from each room along with the overall winner who informed us that recycling turns things into other things which is like magic.

Green School Police

The green school committee along with Miss Kelly took time out today to call in on each class to discuss the bins in the school .We have 3 bins in each room for recycling,food and waste. It was explained to all what actually goes into the bins so hopefully it will be carried out properly but our Green School Police will keep a close eye on this . We need to reduce , reuse and recycle.👍👮‍♀️

We were learning all about winter and read some lovely stories. Owl babies was one of our favourite stories this month. We made some winter houses and used shapes to make them as it was our topic in maths. We were very busy getting ready for the toyshow and baked some yummy cookies 🧸 We even guessed what Patrick Kiety Jumper might look like.

Autumn

The boys and girls in Senior Infants did a fantastic job settling back into school in September. We have been very busy catching up with friends, learning lots of new things and most importantly having fun! We also attended mass to mark the start of another great year and a visit from a Fireman.

Green School News

The Green School Committee recently met for the first meeting in December.

This year we will begin our work on achieving Global Citizenship Litter and Waste. The students has some exciting ideas of how we can tackle litter in our school and increase our knowledge on global citizenship. We will be working towards our goals in the coming weeks.

We are very proud of our Green School status and this year we will be taking part in many different activities. Watch this space!
